The simply worded text is well supported by attractive animal photos, range maps, and helpful infographics. Manatees notes that the three species of gentle giants are key to maintaining healthy rivers and coastal wetlands, but the destruction of seagrass for new construction on coasts prevents them from grazing. All volumes emphasize the importance of slowing climate change to protect these animals and the good they do for their respective environments. The series' bright design and high-interest subjects are sure to engage new readers.
