Preschool-G Whether celebrating a classroom achievement or a day of national importance, the books in the Holidays in Rhythm and Rhyme series make each occasion special. Each volume kicks off with a brief narrative introduction that explains the holiday's significance. The bulk of the book, however, is rhythmic, rhyming, and repetitive text that describes the holiday's traditions. Like other Cantata Learning titles, the text is set to professional music that is made available online and on an included CD, ideally suited for group use. Memorial Day not only emphasizes the recognition of veterans and their sacrifices but notes the holiday as the unofficial start of summer for many Americans. Although different illustrators provide digital artwork, all of the books sport colorful, exuberant images. Except for 100th Day of School, featuring adorable animals as students, the illustrations also include people from diverse cultures and with different abilities.
